The World (XXI) Tarot Card
In the traditional Rider-Waite deck, a woman dances nude in the air while holding twin wand candles. She is covered only by her purple sash. The color purple standing for wisdom, royalty, power, ambition and luxury. She is surrounded by a laurel wreath which is a timeless symbol of victory. Four guardians sit in attendance: Angel, Eagle, Lion, and Bull and represent different qualities as well as the elements of awareness and existence. This audience of mythological beings refers to ancient symbolism used by various religions to illustrate the value and power of the central figure at the gathering. Elements from different parts of the world. Her reach all encompassing. She is above and beyond the limitations of all worldly influence, including that of gravity.
UPRIGHT: The World tarot card (XXI) is considered a completion card and represents perfection, success, and accomplishment. There is much to be happy about when this card appears in a reading. The world marks the end of an important project or period in your life and a move to the next level.
REVERSED: When The World (XXI) shows up in reverse it is an indication that there are blocks or delays to the completion of a project. You may feel unfulfilled and find things meaningless or redundant. There is a need to take a break and to revisit the things that once brought you joy. When the World shows up in reverse the answer is a definite – “No.”

UPRIGHT: This is a very happy card on the physical level when it comes up in a love reading. You have the world at your feet. You relationship brings or will bring happiness and contentment. This card can indicate moving to the next level such as moving in together, marriage and even talks of starting a family.
REVERSED: Discontentment. Feeling unfulfilled or like something is missing. Trouble letting go of a past relationships or believing that once you get closure you can move on. A need to let go of emotional baggage from a past relationship.
